About me – Dr. Katia Herrera

I am Dr. Katia Herrera, pediatrician in Gran Alacant, with more than 20 years of experience supporting families at different stages of child development.

Training and experience

I trained as a pediatrician at the Central University of Venezuela, where I also completed the specialization in Pediatric ICULater, in Spain, I took the MIR exam and gained access to the specialty of Pediatrics and Specific Areas in it San Juan University Hospital of Alicante.

For more than 3 years, I have been part of the medical team of the Vithas Clinic in Alicante and I also practice in a Primary Care Center of the Generalitat ValencianaYou can learn more about my career at Doctoralia and in the official Vithas website.

Close and flexible attention

I offer consultations at home and by video call in Gran Alacant, adapting to the pace of each family. I like to work without rushing, with clear explanations, and always actively listening to mothers, fathers, and children.

Constantly updated

I actively participate in medical conferences and continue my training in key areas such as pediatric dermatology, allergies, vaccines, growth, adolescence, and neurodevelopment. I subscribe to scientific publications and belong to the main pediatric societies in Spain:

In addition to my native Spanish, I am fluent in English and also communicate in Italian. This allows me to comfortably serve foreign families living in Gran Alacant.
