Children's skin is especially sensitive to the sun, which is why children's photoprotection in summer It should be a priority for every family. Here's how to protect it effectively and safely.
Try to keep your children in the shade between noon and 4 pm, when sunlight is most intense. Take advantage of the early morning or late afternoon for outdoor activities.
Long-sleeved shirts, hats with visors, and sunglasses help protect your skin and eyes from the sun. Choose light, cool, and light-colored clothing.
Use broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreens with SPF 50+. Apply 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every 2 hours, especially if you are exposed to water or sweat.
Children under 6 months of age should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Use umbrellas, awnings, and cool clothing that covers their skin. For older babies, apply appropriate pediatric sunscreen and monitor for skin intolerances.
